Managed servers · Linux
A Linux server in London that someone actually looks after.

What we look after, and what stays with you
A managed server only works if everyone knows where the line is. Ours is simple: we run the operating system and the things around it, you run your application and your data.
| Task | WharfCloud | You |
|---|---|---|
| Building the server and hardening the operating system | Yes | |
| Moving your current site, app or tool across | Yes, free | Tell us what runs where |
| Security patches and operating system updates | Yes | |
| Monitoring, alerting and automated recovery | Yes | |
| Backups and help with restores | Yes | Tell us what matters most |
| Your application code, content and users | We help when asked | Yes |
| Changes to how the application works | On request, in business hours | Yes |
Backups are included on every plan. We agree the schedule and how long copies are kept with you at setup, because a law firm's document store and a brochure site need different answers.
Two plans, both with the same care
Essentials (£29/month (list £39/month)) suits a single website, an internal tool or a small line-of-business app. Business (£69/month (list £89/month)) is a larger server for production workloads that need more room.
Both plans include free migration, patching, monitoring, backups and the same support hours. The lower figure is our intro price for the first 50 customers. If you are not sure which size you need, ask us and we will look at what you run today before you order.
How the move works
- 01
Order online
Choose a plan and pay by card. Nothing is built until payment has cleared, and a person checks every first order.
- 02
Tell us what you run
A short questionnaire and, if needed, a call. We note domains, databases, scheduled jobs and anything unusual.
- 03
We build in London
Your server is set up, hardened and added to our monitoring before any data moves.
- 04
We migrate and test
We copy your workload across and check it on the new server. You review it before anything changes for your users.
- 05
Cut over when you are ready
We agree a time to switch DNS or connections, usually outside your busy hours, and keep the old copy until you are happy.
Support hours, written down
- Engineers on tickets: Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 18:00 UK time.
- Critical incidents: Every day, 07:00 to 23:00 UK time. A person responds to critical incidents within 1 hour.
- Nights and weekends: Automated monitoring and automated recovery overnight and at weekends.
We do not claim round the clock engineers, because we are a small team and we would rather tell you exactly what happens at 03:00. The full detail is in our support policy.
Who it suits
- Small businesses whose website or internal tool lives on a server nobody has logged into for a year.
- Accountancy and professional practices that want their portal or document tools hosted in the UK and patched on time.
- Small MSPs and agencies who would rather hand the Linux servers to someone who will answer the alert.

FAQ
Questions we get asked
Where is my data stored?
Your server runs in London, United Kingdom. When we agree your backup schedule we also tell you exactly where the backup copies are kept.
Can I still log in to the server?
Yes. Add your SSH keys in the panel. We ask you to tell us before making system-level changes so patching, monitoring and backups keep working.
Is migration really free?
Yes, moving your existing workload onto a Managed Linux Server is included. If the move turns into a rebuild of the application itself, we tell you before doing any paid work.
What happens if something breaks at night?
Monitoring runs all the time and tries automated recovery first, such as restarting a failed service. For critical incidents a person responds within 1 hour between 07:00 and 23:00 every day. Outside those hours automated recovery continues and an engineer picks it up at 07:00.
Is VAT added to the price?
No. We are not VAT registered, so the price you see is the price you pay.
How long is the contract?
Plans are billed monthly. Notice periods are set out in our terms.
